Club Calendar of events.

Over the year we have numerous talks, exhibitions, trips, visits and other activities.

Previous 2011 Talks

• Thursday 15th December 7pm for 7.30pm. A talk by Dr Bill Samson - Making and Playing Early Musical Instruments. Friends welcome, £1 on door.
  
• Thursday 13th October at 7.15pm. A talk by Danny Hargreaves - ‘GEMS, 9/11 and the Firefighters of New York’.showing images of his experiences in America, including the Tucson Trade Fair.
  
• Thursday 2nd June at 7pm. A talk by Alan Hodgekinson on ‘Highlights of Tuscon’ will be given - All welcome.
• Thursday 12th May, 7-9pm. A talk on “The Refractory Properties of Metals” will be delivered. Entry £1.00.
  
• Thursday 28th of April will be Heddle Night. The Heddle-Night talk is entitled
  “Meteorites – rocks from space.” and will be delivered by James Shepherd.
  Please arrive at the Club for 7:15pm.
  Tickets: £5.00 from duty members. Cheese, wine and other delectables included
  
  
• 17th February – Dave Gavine “Colours in the Sky” Come at 7:15 for 7:30pm

2010 Visits

Visit by Murray Thomson (Australian Gem Expert) on Friday 15th October
He will be giving a short 15-20min presentation on gemstones of Australia at 7.30pm, and is keen to meet members of the SMLC and view the club collection.

Other upcoming events.

'At Home' 2010 - Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th November 2pm-5pm: the Scottish Mineral and Lapidary Club open day. There will be a display of club members’ work, minerals and rocks for sale, a raffle and tea and coffee.
